Handyman in Windsor, Colorado
Windsor is about twenty minutes from me and there is no trip charge and no minimum beyond the standard call-out. Windsor is also the newest housing stock in the region, which changes what people actually need here.
Windsor is not a repair market, and any handyman page that tells you otherwise has not looked at the housing stock. The median Windsor home was built around 2009, and close to half of the town was built in 2010 or later. The town grew about 34% between 2020 and 2025.
That matters because it changes the job list completely. In Fort Collins, where roughly two thirds of the housing predates 2000, I spend my time on deferred maintenance. In Windsor I spend it on the things a new house never came with.
What Windsor houses actually need
Storage that the builder never put in. Closet build-outs, garage shelving, floating shelves, pantry systems. New builds ship with a rod and a shelf and nothing else, and it is the single most common Windsor request I get.
Fixture and fan upgrades. Builder-grade lighting is chosen on price, not looks. Swapping it out is cheap, quick, and the most visible change you can make to a new-build interior.
TV mounting and wall hanging. New houses come with bare walls and nothing hung. Getting things into studs rather than into drywall matters more here, not less, because nothing has been tested yet.
Fences and decks on bare lots. A new lot gets a fence and a deck in raw wood. Getting stain on before the first full Colorado winter is the difference between a deck you maintain and a deck you replace.
Builder punch-list items. Trim that was never caulked, a bath fan venting into the attic instead of outside, closet shelving anchored into nothing. Very common on houses one to three years old.
Settling cracks, and only these. A new build dries out and moves for the first two or three years, which shows up as hairline cracks above door and window corners and the occasional nail pop. That is normal and it is a patch, not a problem. A wide or stair-stepped crack paired with a door that suddenly will not close is worth a look before I patch over it.
The older part of town
The original core near Main Street and Windsor Lake is a different animal from the subdivisions: older wall construction that does not patch like modern drywall, doors that were never quite square, trim worth repairing rather than replacing. If your house is over there, the door and window and drywall pages are more relevant than anything above.
HOA approval
Most of the newer Windsor neighborhoods have an HOA with something to say about anything visible from the street. Fence stain colour, exterior paint, storm doors. I am not going to pretend to know your covenant, but I will tell you before we start if I think the work needs approval, so you are not the one getting a letter three weeks later.

Windsor questions
Do you charge extra to come out to Windsor?
No. No trip charge, no fuel fee and no minimum call-out beyond the standard $125 anywhere in Windsor. It is about twenty minutes from me and a normal part of my week.
My house is nearly new. What would I even need a handyman for?
Most of my Windsor work is not repair, it is the things a builder never included. Shelving and closet build-outs, TV mounting, fixture and fan upgrades from builder-grade, fence and deck staining on a bare new lot, and the punch list the builder never came back to close out.
Can you finish the punch list our builder left?
Yes, and it suits a half or full day block. Worth knowing first: if the house is still inside its builder warranty, some of that list may be their obligation rather than something you should pay me for. Send me the list and I will tell you which items to push back before I quote the rest.
Will my HOA need to approve the work?
Possibly, for anything visible from the street. Fence stain colour, exterior paint and storm doors are the usual ones in the newer Windsor neighborhoods. I will flag it before we start rather than after you get a letter. Interior work is almost never an issue.
Do you work in Water Valley and RainDance?
All of Windsor. The newer west and south side neighborhoods tend to be upgrade and install work. The older streets near Main Street and the lake need more door, window and trim repair. Same published rates either way.
